My niece is believed to have contracted zika virus (awaiting blood results from CDC). She had a full body rash, and sever joint pain and swelling, making it difficult to even walk. The rash is mostly gone but now her left arm is numb and left hand has little strength. Will these symptoms abate or could there be permanent damage? (she is 45 and past child bearing). Thank you.
