My Now 18 Yr Old Daughter Was Injured 1 1/2

My now 18 yr old daughter was injured 1 1/2 years ago, broken femur. Had rod placed, mostly successful except for some pain. We went to her doctor yesterday since she was complaining of having consistent aches related to knee and hip pins. She received a cortisone shot in the hip and was much better initially. Though we were told she might get sore afterwards, she says now (today) she has considerably more pain and "walking sucks" . My question is: is this level of soreness normal and if so how long will she have to endure it? If it is Not normal, please advise me what we should do/ if there is anything to do other than wait and see. I hate she is going through this. Thank you.
