My Physician Prescribed Clotrimazole Cream For 'itchy Skin' Should I

My physician prescribed Clotrimazole Cream for 'itchy skin'
Should I not have been warned by the Physician or the Pharmacy
as to the possible side effects? I was up all night because my face felt like it was on fire.
I kept getting up and going to the bathroom sink to try and wash my face with soap and cold water.
If I had been warned, I would have tried a small patch of skin on my arm first.
