My Question Is Should I Go To An Emergency Room

My question is should I go to an emergency room or wait until tomorrow for my Dr office to open.

I have been bleeding between periods since August. My Dr did blood work and found nothing abnormal. I was also sent for a pelvic and vaginal sonogram which came back showing nothing abnormal. My Gyno put me on birth control pills in an attempt to regulate my bleeding. I have 3 days remaining on my first pack of pills and for the past 4 days have been bleeding heavily. I am changing pads every 2 hours of less. I am also passing large clots. The clots have been golf ball size or smaller with the exception of one yesterday which was about as large as a credit card.

I called my Gyno today and was told by his medical assistant that I needed to give the birth control pills more time to work (2 more months) but that if I needed to change pads after 30 min report to the ER. She did not address my concern over the clots.

I called the office back and requested that the Dr call me when he was available but he never called.

Should I go to ER or is this normal?

I am afraid to keep bleeding like this.
