My Sinus Is Blocked And I Got A Loud Screech In My Ear When I Blew My Nose
my sinus is blocked and i blew my nose and i heard a loud screech in my ear on the same side as my blocked nostril ...this happened twice and i want to know if it is dangerous to my hearing?
Welcome to HealthcareMagic Forum
The loud screech in the ear is because of the opening of the eustachian tube (the tube connecting the nose and the ear). Never blow your nose forcibly it can damage the eardrum. Do steam inhalation if there is nasal block.
Take care
there is connection between ear and nose
blewing nose will give rise to sounds in ear
it is advisable not to blow nose hard as it can damage ear drum
ssounds in ear may not cause hearing problem but damage to ear drum may cause
Dear, Welcome to HealthcareMagic!
Our nasopharynx [=nose] & middle ear [our ear has 3 parts- external, middle & inner] are connected by a 'tube' [Eustachean tube]. So put it simply-- ear & nose are connected-- so this sound. This will not affect your hearing.
For treatment of sinusitis, please consult an ENT surgeon.
