Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son 3 years old just got diagnosed from a blood test with a "severe allergy to dogs" as the pediatrician assistant said. I went to see her because my son seemed to be sick all the time with no resolution: mild fevers (100-101) he complained about his eyes a lot and always congested nostrils are always congested. At the age of 2 he was diagnosed with eczema which I now believe could be a dermatitis reaction to the dogs (his skin gets red swollen like patches over the upper body chest back and arms) is it possible that eczema is a misdiagnosis? His allergy level is 4; I'm not exactly sure what it means please explain. He's been around 2 dogs since birth takes no medications has no other known allergies and the symptoms are the ones mentioned above. My main concerns are: what is his risk of anaphylaxis do I need an epi pen should I get rid of the dogs
