Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son (6 years old) had an abdominal x-ray after complaining of abdominal pain intermittently for a few months. The x-ray impression states: 1. Nonobstructive bowel gas pattern. 2. Large opacity lateral to the right hip which is of uncertain clinical significance, clinical correlation is recommended. The findings say, "There is an opacity lateral to the right hip which is of unkown certainty. It could represent an external object. Clinical correlation is recommended. The x-ray tech had me pull his pants down past his knees due to the button on his shorts and the belt he was wearing. There shouldn't have been any external objects around his abdomen or hip area. Any ideas about the opacity??
