My Son Broke Most Facial Bones In An Accident. His

My son broke most facial bones in an accident. His face is basically plated together. His sinuses were"blown out" but repaired during his surgeries. His right tear duct is blocked and will need an additional surgery. He has noticed a bad smell at times coming from his nasal cavity/sinuses. His tears, which build up in his eye then pour out now also smell bad. Same smell as his nasal cavity. What might it be?
