Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son has been in the NICU at medical city in Dallas for over 5 months. He was born at 24 and 5. they just found less then a month ago that it was silent aspiration all this time causing his lungs to never get any better. The doc said it was his last resort to place a nasoduodenal transpyloric tube to the intestine and also start continuous feeds. he said he was only doing this because the pulmonologist would ask before doing a trach.
The pulmonologist decided a nissen with g-tube was his best bet.
well now that same doctor that just comenced to wait on a trach is trying to push him out the door and hes obvious not ready.
Anyone have any idea on what should or could have been done ?
