My Son-in-law, Aged 35, Has Been Ill For 2 Weeks

My son-in-law, aged 35, has been ill for 2 weeks now. Rash all over body, intermittent fever, intermittent severe joint pain, chills. Initially it was thought he had Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, test came back negative, as did Lyme Disease, Measles, & Mono. He has no energy and has a cough. Previously excellent health. Any ideas?
