Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son is 6yrs old... he is not circumcised... he naturally on his own while bathing generally retracts the skin to rinse as general hi-gene... there 2 or 3 days ago he came to me to show me red or raw skin at the base of the glan where the ridge of the head is and the skin retracts... it is very painful... he said he doesn't know what happened ... it appears as though it is tearing of the skin (I don't think it is a lesion) his skin everywhere else is in good health but retracts further back than that one area which appear to be trying to heal on to the glan... I am trying to understand how to care for this situation... I am reading things that say this sounds like adhesion and that is not good... but I can't tell if it has been retracted further naturally before or if this is a little tear that should be left alone... my son doesn't "recall" if it has been back further ... however all the other foreskin seems to be healthy and pulling back farther with no redness (already healed)... do I just leave this alone, or do I push it back in this area to prevent it from healing onto the glan... how do I care for this... do I put neosporin or vitamin E on it to keep it lubricated and encourage it to not heal together ... please help... Thanks for your direction....
