Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son who is 29 years old had gall stones ranging from 6 to 9 mm. we had been taking some traditional home treatment for the past few months and the stone size got reduced to 6 mm. Any how he experienced pain now and then. Few days back he had severe pain and we took him to an hospital and they gave some pain killer and asked us to go for further investigation.USG of complete abdomen was taken and they found that the 'gall bladder is grossly contracted and wall echo shadow seen in gall bladder fossa' .There is no mention of gall stones. The surgeon opines that there is no longer any problem and has advised him to avoid fatty foods in future. My question is: whether the gall stone has been cured completely and there is no gall stone ? What is the reason for the shrinkage of the gall bladder? Whether there will be any health problems in future? Whether he will experience stomach pain due to gall stones in future? Shankar
