My Throat Tightens When I Have Eaten Some Salty Foods.

My throat tightens when i have eaten some salty foods. Food gets stuck in my throat causing a mild discomfort. Drinking water does not help to make the food go down. It just sits there until the food goes down. When I have eaten another mouth full and I try to swallow while the food is still going down slowly, it sits on the top of my throat and does not go down. I've found that when I can voluntarily vomit up the food then my throat feels better. Funny thing is once I take a drink of water after this has happened, I eat the same salty food and I do not have the same physical reaction. I can eat it slowly and I do not get any constrictions in my throat. I thought it may have been a particular food that was causing this, but have not seen this to be true. The foods that I have eaten when this has happened have had salt content in it, some with a high content and others with a mild content. I have eaten these foods before many times before and have had no reaction. I'm wondering why this is happening and why does it only happen when I'm eating fast? I am 56 years old. This has been going on for about a year or so. The number of occurrences are few and far between. Appreciate your input. (I realize I may have been eating too fast and need to slow my rate of eating). Thanks.
