hi krupali;
welcome to HealthcareMagic Forum.
Your uncle may be suffering from diabetes since long time that can be a reason of his creatinine is high.In long standing diabetes there are degenerative changes in kidneys called Diabetic Nephropathy which leads to renal shut down called Renal failure(kidney failure).Now he requires treatment which can be medical line of treatment or he may have to go in for Dialysis.It will depend on the level of Creatinine in blood .Consult the Physician he will guide you better as he knows your uncles general condition & his blood reports better.He will refer you to a Nephrologist who will treat your uncle.
wish your uncle good health .
thanks

Hi. Welcome to HealthcareMagic Forum. High level of creatinine indicates renal damage. In diabetes of long standing duration kidneys are invariable affected. You need to consult an endocrinologist to work out effective doses of medications to control your sugar levels and also consult a nephrologist to help you reduce the creatinine levels. Please do not avoid as it might lead to End Stage Renal Disease. Take care

Hi krupali,

welcome to HealthcareMagic Forum.

Management of a diabetic patient with high creatinine level needs proper evaluation preferably by an endocrinologist or a nephrologist or a general physician. A high creatinine value in a diabetic indicates involvement of the kidneys because of longstanding diabetes, but it may not be the case always. It can be elevated in a number of other conditions like urinary tract infections, obstruction to passage of urine, kidney stones, etc. which needs to be evaluated. Ask your physician about vaccinations and need for dialysis for your uncle as he might in the long run end up with dialysis when the kidney function declines further. wishing your uncle good health

regards,

Dr. Rajesh Kota
