sugary or a fruity odour is due to ketosis a sign in starvation, diabetes etc. It need not always mean diabetes. Also can be seen in some errors of metabolism. I would advise you to get your urine tested to rule out any abnormality. And since your fbs is in normal limit i would advise you to get a further work up of a glucose challenge test which will confirm the diagnosis. I would advise you to consult a physician and get a complete work up, i hope i have answered your query. Take care
