My Wife Has Had Metastatic Breast Cancer For 3 Years,

My wife has had metastatic breast cancer for 3 years, located in her lung. During the last 2 years she has been treated with Kadcyla and up until the past 6 months, successfully. During the past 6 months many side effects has caused many problems: Low Hemoglobin, hard to breath, fluids in the lung and recently treated for pneumonia with antibiotics helping. Last week, we had to rush her to ICU because her blood count was under 5 and with 3 pints of new blood, it improved to a 7. During her time in ICU, the fluids built up in her abdoman and yesterday, it was drained. During that same visit and test on her Liver was performed and today her Oncologist told her she is worried about the Liver. A CT Scan was performed. Also, during the consultation, her Oncologist asked if she would be willing to a Clinical or to consider time away from treatments. Are there other options? By the way, her original cancer occurred in 2005, now 13 years ago. My wife is 59, 115 lbs, was healthy through 6 months ago and played golf. Currently she is asking for a better quality of life.
