Myself & My Partner Have Recently Been Trying For A

Myself & my partner have recently been trying for a baby. I had a light & brief period, which was mostly a yellow fluid initially. I did not appear to ovulate after this (According to the ovulation test strips) before my last period, which was a week late, with heavy bright red bleeding with dark clots. After a few hours of this late period starting the pain grew & grew to a point where pain killers did nothing to alleviate the growing agony. I have had painful periods before, but never like this. I was shaking, sweating, vomiting, unable to stand and had to call my partner to get me more pain killers as I wasn't even able to stand and walk to my kitchen to get them. All in all the pain lasted 3 hours, it built in intensity over the first hour, was terrible for about an hour, then slowly subsided over the next. I was in such a state my partner wanted to call an ambulance, but I could think of nothing else but the pain and didn't want him to leave me for a second. The only thing I can compare it to was labor/childbirth. The pain was not like the usual cramps of period pain, although it started like that it changed to a different type of pain more akin to contractions that came in waves every few minutes and subsided then returned. The most intence pain was in the lower centre section of my abdomen, not where the ovaries are. Later that day I felt fine & was relieved the pain was over. The next day I still felt fine and me & my partner went walking, but after a while of walking I couldn't walk any further as it was hurting the area I was in pain the day before. I felt as though my lower abdomen had been traumatized the day before by whatever had happened in those 3 hours. Even going back home in the car going over bumps in the road was hurting that area, but it wasn't cramps or period pain, it was as though I'd been injured and had irritated the area by walking. I continued to bleed heavily and 3 days later went to my GP to have a blood test to see if I was having a miscarriage. The results of the test 3 days later showed no pregnancy, if I ever was I don't know, as I hadn't done a pregnancy test prior to the pain or when my period was late. So if I was pregnant the doctor told me the tests shown the pregnancy was over, or something else had caused the pain etc... it has been over a week since I started bleeding and I'm still bleeding. I am left frustrated and upset as I still don't know what has happened to me. It wasn't normal. I had a light odd colour period after the last time me & my partner tried to make a baby. Then the next period was a week late, extremely heavy & unusually painful. I know something has gone wrong, I just wish I knew what it was. Please help my understand what has happened, I'd rather know than not :-(
