Need Advice On Gram Stain Result

Hello... My Gram Stain Result is this.. Gram stained smears show many gram negative bacilli. Few Yeast like organism with hyphal element is seen. Numerous polymorphonuclear leucocytes and few squamous epithelial cells are noted.. I hope you could help me understand this.. thank you very much

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The microbiological examination of the unknown sample shows presence of gram negative bacilli.
This means that rod shaped bacteria which are gram negative (gram negative refers to bacteria which do not take up Gram stain) are present in the sample.
Besides gram negative rods, fungus is also present.
Accompanying the bacteria and fungi are plenty of neutrophils and squamous epithelial cells.
The site of the smear is important to interpret the report.
You can consult your doctor with report and further management.
