Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I'm 78 and have been on 2.5 mg bisolprolol for 15 years (when I had triple bypass surgery). Now I have asked to be changed to atenolol because it is much less expensive. But the prescription label says to take 50 mg. Should it be 25 mg, or is the 50 mg dose of atenolol equivalent to the 2.5 mg dose of bisolprolol?
HI Thank for asking to HCM I really appreciate your concern looking to the history given here I would like to say that, it is not the case that because of the price the antihypertensive need to changed, but is all depends upon the type of blood pressure you have and the cardiac elements, so discus this with your physician ask him to prescribe affordable drug, have a nice day.
