Need Medication For UTI

I was recently in the hospital for a urinary tract infection that spred to my kidneys and caused an infection I m currently taking kefelex for it I am also 37 weeks pregnant I was having major heart burn earlier so I took a Zantac also now when goin to the bathroom I had seen my stool was very dark brown in color possibly even black there s a hurricane going on so I m wondering how serious this may be or if it can be put off until tomorrow etc.

As for your query, there is a lot of gastric irritation caused by antibiotics which is why an antacid (proton pump inhibitor, H2-receptor blockers, antacids, etc.) should always be prescribed along with antibiotics. As for the change in stool color, you must not be on iron supplements anymore which is why the change in color could possibly be due to an upper gastrointestinal bleed and needs to be looked into. If at all for some reason you are still on iron supplements, then the change in color is clearly because of the supplements and there is nothing to worry about.
