Need Medication For Intense Cough & Breathing Issue
My son is having intense coughing now with nose bleeds. The coughing is getting worse. It lasts for about 1-2 min. and only a few minutes in between spells. He is having a difficult time with coughing and breathing. Should I take him to and ER or wait to get in with his primary doctor?
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic. I can understand your son's situation and problem. In my opinion, you should immediately take him to hospital and start treatment. Nose bleeding, coughing and breathlessness suggest possibility of bronchitis more. But chest x ray is needed to rule out lung infection. Detailed examination of nasal cavity is also needed to rule out internal cause for bleeding. He may need antibiotics, antihistamines and inhaled bronchodilators with inhaled corticosteroid (ICS). So better to consult doctor, first diagnose himself and than start appropriate treatment. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
