Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 10 yr old son tore or pulled a muscle on the inside crease of his upper leg nearly 2 weeks ago. It still hurts and wondered if he rest it for an unlimited time to let it heal or if there is another way to help it heal. He says it also cracks or pops sometimes. Not sure if it is a groin muscle, a ligament or a tendon?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Hello, Thanks for your query. The symptoms you have described are more likely to be symptoms of muscles strain or pull. To get relief from the pain and for quick healing: 1. Do hot fomatation at the site. 2. Apply local anti-inflammatory gel 2-3 times a day. 3. Take anti-inflammatory drugs like Ibuprofen to reduce pain and local swelling or inflammation. 4. Do not lift weight or try to do exercise that involve painful muscles. Give proper time to heal.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query. Take care
