New Liver Can Be Replaced During End Stage Of Cirrhosis?
My husband of 15 years and I are separated, we have been for about 9 months. As a result his family will not allow me to have any information about his health which he is in the end stages of liver disease (cirrhosis). He has been in ICU since Sunday on dialysis because his kidneys cannot filter the toxins any longer and his blood pressure is really low. How long does someone like this typically have to live and is he still eligible for a new liver? He's been hospitalized 8 times this year alone....

Your husband having end stage liver cirrhosis ....
Because of that there is functional failure of kidney is there....
So kidney failure is associated....
So his condition is not good and prognosis is poor....
Chance of multiorgan failure is high....
Liver transplantation is ultimate final treatment for cirrhosis but here as kidney failure is also there it has to be decided whether to go for transplantation or not by surgeon....
Meanwhile monitoring of his blood pressure , pulse , tempreture etc .has to be done.
