Newborn Baby Losing Weight. Projectile Vomiting Of The Feedings. Is Anything Wrong?
My week and a half old baby was born at 9lbs 1oz and is now down to 7lbs 13oz. The ped told me to supplement with formula. I did that starting yesterday now she is spitting up projectile during some feedings. She has also been extremely lethargic since day one but he thought as soon as and starts the formula she would perk up. What could possibly be wrong with my baby??

babies usually loose 10% of birth weight in initial 4-5 days but they regain there birth weight weight till 10 th day
occasional regurgitation after feeds is also normal, can be controlled by burping after each feed
if your child continues to loose weight , is vomiting after each feed, is lethargic: child needs to be seen by a pediatrician as to the cause of such manifestations
do see a specialist without delay
