No Result Seen After Peeling Session And Microdermabrasion For Removing Acne Marks And Pores. Is This A Correct Treatment?

Hi Doctor, I have mild acne marks and pores on my cheeks, my doctor (Dr. Priya, Apollo) has given me one session of peeling and prescribed to use saslic face wash, Microdox LBX, Benzac AC 5% gel to apply at night for 7 days. Second session she did microdermabrasion (for 2 minutes) and prescribed C Tax OXL 200 mg, Citravitae, Benzac AC 5% to be used for 10 days. But am not seeing any result. I also read that microdermabrasion would be done for a minimum of 15 minutes, and face becomes little reddish. This wasnt there in my case. My face was normal only. Am not sure whether am getting proper treatment inspite of spending so much. Pl suggest me whether to continue with this doctor. If not advice me with a doctor in Chennai.

hi. Thanks for posting at HCM

I would advice that you continue with your sessions of peeling and microdermabrasion (MDA) for acne marks and scars.

Chemical peeling exfoliates and thus improves both acne and acne induced pigmentation

Microdermabrasion also exfoliates but it is deeper and helps in reducing the appearance of acne scars by smoothening out the edges of scars and by collagen remodeling.

Chemical peeling and MDA work well together.

Regarding the duration of MDA, the doctor performing it is the best judge of it and it can vary from session to session. The affected area (scars) is given more passes of dermabrasion then unaffected area

Normally a doctor gives a series of sessions to the patient.

take care
