hello doctor, i am suffering from nodular acne over the cheek and pustule acne under the lips and chin , for the past 8 years. i have taken medications prescribed by doctors, such medications include Doxt -s , Acnestar soap and gel, Benzoyl Peroxide cream, Tretin cream, clindamycin gel. But no fruitful results. Can you please guide me what is the next step i need to proceed to get rid of acne.
Hi,
As you have nodular acne, you need to take oral isotretinoin along with other medicines that you have been taking. Isotretinoin is drug of choice in nodular acne. Taking sessions of salicylic acid peels with oral treatment would be really helpful. Hope that answers your query. Take care.
Acne is hormonal condition and may need hormonal treatment if necessary.
Also cryotherapy and peeling are very much helpful in acne .They are available in good skin clinics.
Consult qualified dermatologist for the same.
Hope this helps.
Wishing you good health.
