Noticed Green Area Under Nail In Middle Finger, Swollen. Emergency?
My husband's middle finger is red and swollen since the last 2-3 days. Today he noticed a green area in the lateral nail fold of the same finger. He has quite a few bugs above his bed in his room. I cannot be with him right now and am trying to get medical advice for him. He says it hurts him such that he can move the finger but can't do anything with it. Could this be a medical emergency or does he need to go show it to a doctor? Thank you.
Your husband could be suffering from one of the numerous different types of joint and soft tissue diseases such as arthritis, gout/pseudogout, abscess/soft tissue infection etc. This is not necessarily a medical emergency and your husband could just pay a visit to a doctor. A doctor would need to evaluate him, maybe run some few tests and the provide him with appropriate depending on what his impression is.
Hope this helps
