Noticed Red Skin Rashes Like Blisters On Face, neck & Hand

I have a skin rash that is not confined to any one area. It is on my right hand in the form of a few blisters,on my face, on my on my forehead in a straight line instead of blisters, just a raised redness. I also have this same redness on my inner thighs and one on my buttocks. They are on my neck and underneath my chin and these itch. The ones on my hand also itch. I cannot think of anything I have come into contact with or eaten that is unusual I have used alcohol, calamine lotion and hydrocortisone to treat it but more keep appearing. What could it be and how should it be treated?

Hi Dear,

As per your query, you have red skin rashes like blisters on face, neck and hand which seems to be due to contact dermatitis, eczema and could be due to an allergic reaction.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to keep your skin covered while exposing to sunlight. You should keep your extremities clean and dry. Do not apply any cosmetic product and take antihistamines like benadryl. If the condition doesn't get well then consult a dermatologist for proper examination. The doctor may order a blood test, skin patch test along with physical examination. The doctor may prescribe immunosuppressants, corticosteroid along with antibacterial or antiviral depending upon the diagnosis.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
