Noticed Swollen Throats And White Spots Due To Sniffing Of MDMA
I sniffed some MDMA at a party last weekend. I have a slightly swollen throat, several white spots where the swelling is occurring and that area hurts when I swallow. Will these symptoms go away by themselves or is a trip to my doctor absolutely necessary?
What you are describing are symptoms of pharyngitis/tonsillitis which is a bacterial or viral infection of the pharynx or tonsils which are situated in your throat. It could have been caused due to presence of contaminants in the drugs you sniffed or from other sources. In any case, it has to be examined and accordingly treated with antibiotics if necessary. Neglecting it could lead to complications in the future.
It is advisable to visit your doctor at the earliest.
Hope your query is answered. Dr Anjana Rao Kavoor
