Noticed Tanning Of Skin After Using Vaseline Moisturizer
hi ...my age 23 ,male, during winter in the mid of january 2014 ...due to dryness ,i have switched to vaseline mositurizing lotion from my light moisturizers as there are not giving enough moisturizing in winter season..as i thought it a thick moistuirzer so i can use it in winter season...after 15 days of using vaseline lotion some of my areas on my face have become light dark, not heavily but light dark..so their is a uneven in my skin..my skin colour is white..so some areas white & some areas light dark..i discontiued vaseline after observing uneven skin on my face..hi ...my age 23 ,male, during winter in the mid of january 2014 ...due to dryness ,i have switched to vaseline mositurizing lotion from my light moisturizers as there are not giving enough moisturizing in winter season..as i thought it a thick moistuirzer so i can use it in winter season...after 15 days of using vaseline lotion some of my areas on my face have become light dark, not heavily but light dark...can see a difference in my skin when observed closely.so their is a uneven in my skin..my skin colour white..so some areas white & some areas light dark..i discontiued vaseline after observing uneven skin ..but after 1 month also their are not gone...i thought after discontuing vaseline for some time ..the changed light dark areas of my skin will get my colour back..but it doesnot......

Hi there.
I do get a lot of my patients complaining of a similar problem after having used Vaseline or petroleum jelly products especially pigmentation issues.
May I recommend a moisturizer that helps in reducing pigmentation and that in addition contains an aloevera preparation.
A liberal use of a sunscreen applied each 3-4 hrs from dawn to dusk will aid the process.
