Obese, High BP. What Type Of Diet Will Help To Reduce Weight?

Hi,Dr I am 45yrs my height 5"3 weight 95 I know I am obese and suffering of high BP .Now I hav seriouly made up my mind to loose weight but I dont know how to arrange my diet ? About morning and evning walkingI agree but before moning walking should I take my breakfast or just drink water and go for a walk? please Dr.help me with a diet timetable or some loseweight medicins or whatever is adviseable for me.Thnx

Hello and welcome to HCM,

The most important thing to keep in mind before starting a weight loss regime is to persistence, maintain nutrition and not to starve the body.
1. Do not miss break fast.
2. Walking should be done before taking breakfast.
3. All meals should be taken in time.
4. Eat something every 1-2 hours.
5. Avoid excessive carbohydrates.
6. Avoid fast foods
7. Take fresh fruits and vegetables
8. Drink plenty of water, fresh fruit juices and soups
9. Take a light walk after dinner
10. Take dinner atleast 2 hours before sleeping
11. Light aerobic exercises should be included in your schedule

Losing weight can be difficult. It is easier to lose weight by changing the diet than by increasing activity.

In terms of diet there are two main types of diet: the low fat low calorie diet and the low carbohydrate diet.

In both diet you need to eliminate sodas and fruit drinks and use water instead.

In the low fat diet the following is recommended: reduce frying, use low fat cheeses/milks/dressings, increase the use of vegetables and fruits, use lean meats

In the low carb diet : reduce breads/biscuits/breakfast cereals/pasta/rice/potatoes. Use any amount of protein and salads. The reasoning is carbohydrates cause the body to release insulin and insulin stops fat from breaking down so if carbohydrate intake is reduced then fat is broken down.
