Occasionally (once A Year) I've Had Such Bad Heartburn That

Occasionally (once a year) I've had such bad heartburn that I end up with acidic diarhea. Lately it has been getting worse. I've tried zantac, pepcid, tums, and now I've heard that plain old baking soda in water works. Would a probiotic help? I've had a scope of esophagus and colonoscopy within the last six months and it all was fine. thanks.
