Ok I Am A Male, 44 Years Old, No Family

Ok I am a male, 44 years old, no family history of heart problems never had any symptoms of heart pain. My blood pressure for the last 6 mo's seems to be 140-160 systolic and 95-107 diastolic with a heart rate between 95 and 110. I am a nurse in a very demanding VDRF unit and also 280 lbs at 5'11" but very active. Played physical sports all my life. My dr. Keeps telling me that my labs are all good and I have nothing to worry about....but I am. Besides the obvious of losing weight should I be on medication?
