On BC Pills. Missed Few. Had Unprotected Sex. Feeling Nausea And Noticed Dark Brown Discharge. Pregnant?
I have been on BC for four months now, and never skipped an active pill. I skipped the placebo pills last month and continued with the active pills as usual. Recently my boyfriend came inside of me without a condom. For two weeks after I had diarrhea, not super severe but still present. I've been feeling nauseous lately and am now on my next set of placebo pills. I should be getting my period but instead I have dark brown discharge that's very light. Is there a chance I am pregnant even though I've never missed a pill? Does diarrhea make my BC less effective?
Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
The chances of pregnancy have always been there with unprotected sex.
The chances of pregnancy in your case may be there because you had unprotected sex and she has missed her pills also. Diarrhoea can also decrease the effect of the pills, so chances may increase.
You should consult a gynaecologist for urine, blood test and ultrasonography to rule out pregnancy.
Good luck.
Take care.
