On Implanon, Have Pregnancy Symptoms, Negative Urine Pregnancy Test. Chances Of False Negative While On Implanon?

Hi, my name is Meagan. I ve had Implanon for over a year now. I have had pregnancy symptoms for the past month and I am almost positive I am pregnant. BUT all the urine tests are coming out negative. I had blood drawn two days ago and should know by Monday what the results from my blood are. My question is: is it possible to get a false negative in urine pregnancy tests while on Implanon?

Thanks for your question.
Implanon contain hormones which are similar to those our body produce during pregnancy. This is the reason you are having symptoms like you have during pregnancy. Otherwise, Implanon is a very reliable birth control method which is effective for 3 years.
It is not known to cause false negative pregnancy test results. You did a right thing by opting for a blood test, this will help in relieving your doubts.
