Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
On July 29, 2015 I had a Tibial Plateau Repair on my left knee: Previous surgeries include: ACU reconstruction 1995 - (subsequently somewhat laz perhaps cause 2 other medial menisus tears - 0ne of the horn and body of the medial meniscus. This surgery was cuased by me stepping into the ocean at Fire Island and fracturing my tibia in three places - a plate with screws were inserted laterally and I was found - because this was a relatively low impact though strong wave that I had osteoporosis. So after the surgery I was non-weight bearing on my left leg for three months. from one day to the next my surgeon told to put full weight on my left leg (I have been doing a course of PT all along). However My last MRI reported Not only further progression of the chronic tearing of the posterior horn and body of the medial meniscus - which is very painful it also reported an "Insufficiency fracture along the articular surface of the medial femoral condyle." I am being treated with Forteo for the last for months but had an appt. with the first trauma surgeon who I believe should have never had me put full weight on my left leg all at once and that that caused the fracture - I am also seeing the Chief Bone Specialist for osteoporosis who called the fracture a "bruise" instead of a fracture as the report cites. I am really confused. Can advice be had?
