On Tuesday night (approximately 7pm) the ladder I was on slipped, and my weight kicked it out from under me. I remember the ladder starting to fall. I remember turning around very quickly. This is where it gets vague. I sort of remember seeing the ground (and farm equipment right below me). I also vaguely remember putting arms out to keep me from hitting this equipment, or at least deflect most of impact. I remember the sensation of falling, the THUMP of hitting my face, and then jumping up spitting out blood.
I do not believe I hit my head as I was totally "with it." I was able to go to house, try to call 911 (ended up not needing them). After I found out our phone inside home wasn't working, I went back down into the yard, and got my cell phone, etc.
I guess I am curious as to why remembering specific details is so difficult. Could it be my mind was so focused on saving my life (by not landing directly on equipment), that it just focused on that, and not memory?
