Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, my name is Cindy and I am a 20 year old student in college. I have been taking the birth control Zarah for about 5 years and recently I have been missing my period. I have taken pregnancy tests and they all come out negative. I am having unprotected sex with my boyfriend. I am very confused and lost. I am very overweight (4 11, 245 ibs ). Is there something very wrong? I need help! Thank you!
Hi Cindy,
Thanks for posting your query. I am happy to address your questions, Zarah contraceptives consist of 21 tablets of a monophasic combined hormonal preparation plus 7 inert tablets. The dosage is one blue tablet daily for 21 consecutive days followed by 7 peach inert tablets per menstrual cycle. One should begin to take it either on the first day of menstrual period (Day 1 Start) or on the first Sunday after the onset of menstrual period (Sunday Start). To achieve maximum contraceptive effectiveness, Zarah must be taken exactly as directed at intervals not exceeding 24 hours. Will recommend you get examined by your clinician to suggest you alternatives and continue barrier contraceptions to avoid pregnancy. Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions, I will be happy to help. Thanks
