On And Off Pain Between Shoulder Blade And Spine Radiating Around Anterior Thoracic Region Feeling Like Spasm, Pressure. All Tests Normal. Better When Sleeping. Advice

Hello, I have been having pain for the past 3 months in my upper left back between my shoulder blade and spine. Te pain radiates around to my anterior thoracic region. The pain usually lasts a couple of days before subsiding. Five days ago, the pain started again. This time, more severe and constant. I went into the er a couple of nights ago because the pain was so bad. They performed blood work, CT scan, chest x-ray, and EKG. All tests came back normal. I am at my wits end and do not know where else to turn. The pain is more prevalent while standing and sitting. The pain seems to subside when I lay down. The pain in my back feels like a muscle spasm, pressure, and sometimes a burning sensation.

Hi and welcome to HCM
Pain between shoulder blade and spine looks like a positional anomaly. The back ache is a result of muscle spasm which in itself is a protective mechanism body develops so that the back avoids abnormal posture. For pain to go, it takes not only rest (on a comfortable bed) but also avoidance of particular positions (during work, rest or recreation).
While on work don't sit in one position for more than an hour and take frequent stretch breaks. Do not bend forward to lift things up, bend the knees and hips for that. Also discontinue any strenuous activity or exercises for some time

I do hope that you have found something helpful and informative and I will be glad to answer any further query.
Take care.
