On Antibiotics For UTI. Doctor Called In A Cholesterol Script. No Blood Test Done. Explain
I am on my 3rd round of antibiotics, for which I assumed was for a uti. The doctor just called in a cholesterol script. I have never been on this type of medicine. I have only done a urine test. I haven't done a blood test or anything else. Does that mean there was cholesterol in my urine? and what would be the cause of that.
HI Thanks for your query. It is unusual to diagnose a cholesterol problem based on a urine test result. We usually require a lipid profile (done with an overnight fast). So I suggest you discuss with your doctor the reason for starting the cholesterol pill.
Hope this helps Good luck.
