On Depo. Was Shot On Second Shot. Had Unprotected Sex. Now Spotting Seen. Brown Blood Coming. Chances Of Conceiving?

I am on the depo shot I got my first shot in June spotted everyone in awhile. Was a week late on getting my second shot but got it as soon as I could. I have unprotected sex with my bf but we haven't gotten pregnant and I just took a test Sunday morning. Just now I went to the bathroom and I'm not spotting I'm having very brown blood coming out when I wipe and there's a lot I also am feeling sick. Is this normal?

Hi,
This spotting could be due to the contraception. Failure rates are very low with the injection; yet, you should exclude pregnancy at this stage through a blood test. Please see your consultant for further appraisal of the situation. You may also need a trans-vaginal/pelvic sonogram, blood counts and urinalysis. Your symptoms could be due to hormonal imbalances or a general illness; they are not specific for pregnancy. Hope you find this information useful. Wish you good health.
