On Insulinn. Pain In Upper Chest While Walking, Belching, Discomfort. Clear ECG, Non Reactive Throptin T Test. Advice
I am 59 years old, female, fat, on 90 units of insulin. I go for a walk for 45 mins every morning. As soon as I start to walk I get pain in my upper chest and have to stop before I can walk again. It is accompanied by belching and discomfort. I had an ECG which was clear, the Throptin-t test was non reactive. I need to know what else to do. I cannot take the TMT as I limp from an old injury. Please advice. Special request for Dr. Anil Grover Cardiologist.
From what you are saying it seems like having exercise induced angina, which is a typical sign for ischemic heart disease. but you can't performe the ECG stress test cause of the old injury.
In your case i would suggest a lot of alternative examinations, one of them is medical induced Stress Echo (It is a drug induced stress to the heart, no physical activity needed).
Also onother oportunity to check you for ischemic heart disease is Coronary CT angiography.
I hope i answer to your question.
