On Lanzoraprole For Suspected GERD. Ate Chocolate, Feel Excruciating Pain In My Chest, Oesophagus. Treatment?
Hi. I am currently taking lanzoraprole for suspected GERD. I have just eaten a chocolate eclair sweet and 5 mins later got this excruciating pain in my chest, oesophagus. I felt dizzy and sick. I have a burning smell in my nostrils. It is now just an ache with occasional sharp pain in my oesophagus and stomach. I still feel dizzy still.
It is always good to know what disease is causing the symptoms. Taking lanzoprasole without proper diagnostics can delay it. Such symptoms can be caused by GERD indeed. However it can be also peptic ulcer, stomach inflammation or even stomach or esophagus cancer. Chocolate contains lots of sugars. Sugars stimulate stomach acid secretion and make your symptoms worse.
You should definitely have gastroscopy done to rule out any serious diseases. During this test, also Helicobacter Pylori infection can be checked. This bacteria can trigger such symptoms as well.
In a meanwhile please avoid fatty foods, spicy foods, coffee, chocolate, fruit juices.
Hope this will help. Regards.
