On Morphine Sulfate, Hydremorphone. Urine Test Shows Positive For Morphine, Vicodin. Side Effects Of The Medicine?
Hi. Is currently taking morphine sulfate extended release tabs 30 mg. 2 timesaver day. I also an take hydremorphone 4 mg tabs 1to 4 times daily when needed. I only take 1 or 2 away but only 1 or 2 times a week some weeks none. I nada urine test at my dr. Office last weekday showed positive for morphine AND VICODIN. They don,t believe me hen I say I don't take Vicodin. Could this breakthrumedicine show up as Vicodin? Iam69 years old and a very upset that this could. Happen tome. I have been going to this pain management dr for a few years now. His associate who isaw last week was ver crude and told to go elsewhere for my DRUGS. Ihad back surgery in 2008 and have been left with a great deal of pain..PLEASE HELP ME Understand!!!!

I can understand what you are going through. The reason why doctors are reluctant to prescribe opioid group of medicines is because of their addiction potential. But you need relief from pain that you are experiencing. You need to try other non-addicting pain relievers. I hope you are able to get adequate pain-relief.
Vicodin also has an opioid component. I think it came back positive because of similar constituent or some cross-reaction.
I want you to relax and think it through. You also need help with ongoing stress. You should try relaxation techniques, breathing techniques, meditation etc for it.
