On Physio And Hydrotherapy After Knee Replacement. Collapse During Exercises Due To Low BP, Desire To Urinate. Advice

Hello, my questio is as follows. My Husband a 68 yr old, had a knee relpacement 4 weeks ago and is now an out patient for Physio and Hydrotherapy. When I picked him up today he said he had collapse after doing some walking excercises . " they made me lie down and they gave me oxygen. They said my blood pressure was low" He also told me he had an urgent desre to go to the toilet. Being a retired nurse I immediately thought of vaovagul Syncope. My problem is he is now reluctant to excercise . What is the current treatment? Thankyou.

Welcome at HCM.

I can understand your concern.

You are right that this can be vasovagal syncope.Vasovagal syncope can be due to either pain or some other noxious stimuli which he was unable to bear.

At this time physio is very essential to him or he will have stiffness & limitation of range of movement at his knee.You may ask from his physio for chage of exercises or for only mild exercises .
