On Rifampicin For TB And Omeprazole For Cough. How To Treat Discomfort Around Sternum, Headache And Feeling Of Sputum?
Am 38, diagnosed of tb last four months, have been on tb drug rifampicin and inh. I keep having discomfort around my sternum and light headache. Feeling of sputum along my throat and I produce cough like substance if I make effort, else I do not cough. Have taken omeprazole for years now still no improvement. Sometimes I have hot feelings along my right side of the body. except for mild changes my LFT has been ok and now even returning to normal. Pls what else can I consider to get perfectly ok
HI Thank for asking to HCM I am really sorry to inform you that, the omeprazole is given for acid reflexes and not for cough you under the wrong impression, but no need to worry here you have history of Tuberculosis and it is just 4 months gone since you have started the treatment it takes at least 6 months for symptomatic relief till then you will have to keep the patience once the anti tuberculosis treatment starts then no need to worry nothing will be bad for symptomatic relief you can take the Diphendihydramine either in syrup base or in tab. form , have nice day.
