One Month Old Baby Having Cough. Nebulization Suggested With Asthakind And Clarythromycin. Nasoclear Prescribed. What Is The Dosage?
Hi . My 40 days old baby girl has got cough since morning. Probably due to myself suffering with viral fever for past 3 days has made her suffer with this cough. Have visited a pediatrician today. He suggest nebrulization twice a day alongwith clarythromycin and Asthakind. He has also asked us to use Nasoclear. It would be great if you could please suggest how many times do we have to use Nasoclear daily ? Also we are very afraid coz the doc told us that such coughs get severe after 2-4 days and probably my little baby has to bear all this for next 10 days ? Kindly suggest
Hello
Thanks for the query
Actually all the drugs which he has prescribed for your baby is uncommon prescription for this age. As treatment suggests and as also your doc told about the progress of severity of condition, he must be treating your baby as a case of whooping cough. As immunity against whooping cough does not come from mother it can happen in this age but very uncommon. You can give nasoclear drop 1 drop in each nostril alternatively at an interval of about 5 minutes 5-6 times a day, particularly before feeds.
I would suggest you to continue with the same medication, timely immunisation and to be careful for the worsening of condition if any.
I hope this answers your query well
Wish you and your family good health
