Open Reddish Sore In The Throat, Bleeding While Gargling. Swollen Tonsils, Cold. What Is Wrong?
I have a open red soar on the back if my throat and when I gargle fresh blood comes out. I went to the doctor and she said my tonsil were a bit swollen so it's probably a cold but as this seems abnormal I'm concerned it could be something worse?... Sometimes my glands by my throat are as hard as marbles and quite pronounced but I don't have a soar throat, just soar glands.
Hello dear..
All these symptoms indicate that you might be having Pharyngitis & acute Tonsilitis.
Management includes:
1. Gargle with warm salt water to relieve throat pain.
2. Analgesics like paracetamol 3. Antibiotics depending upon culture & sensitivity reports to remove the causative organism.
4. Antihistamine preparations can also be used to provide symptomatic relief.
If symptoms still persist...it will be better to consult an ENT specialist.
Meanwhile...avoid taking cold food & drinks, maintain adequate hydration & take soft, non-spicy foods.
Wish you good health & a speedy recovery.
Thanks & take care
