Overweight, Diabetic With Low Glucose Level And Sore Lymph Nodes Under Arm. Related?

I am a 43 year old overweight female. Type II Diabetic with glucose levels in the low to mid 200's. I have sore lymph nodes under both arms and slight swelling of the ankles. I have NEVER experienced either before today. Is this a sign of the diabetes affecting my kidneys or could it be from prolonged riding in a hot vehicle for the last several days with very little physical activities?

Hello,
For sore lymph nodes at axilla, do palpate and see if it is hard or soft. if it is soft it might be due to the axiallary tail or the lipomatous (fatty) Lesion. Its better to have Ultrasound Breast with bilateral axilla. Sometime if there is lump or disease on breast there might be swelling of the axially lymph nodes. and Go for FNAC if the USG indicates ..

General & Family Physician Dr. Pavan Kumar Gupta's  Response
Hello,
Swelling in ankles in a diabetic patient can occur because of various reasons like..
Uncontrolled blood pressure leading to congestive heart failure
Uncontrolled diabetes leading to diabetic nephropathy
Anemia with hypoproteinemia etc.
You must consult an internal medicine specialist and get yourself examined and investigated thoroughly.
Keep a tight control on your blood sugar, blood pressure and serum lipids.
It is very important for you to shed weight and so you must adopt a healthy eating with less calories and do regular aerobic exercises for 45 minutes a day.
Thanks
