Ovulation Cramps. Have Implanon Implant. Will Implanon Stop Ovulation?
Hi I have my most recent implanon implant in for 13 mths now , this month I could feel ovulation cramps from my left ovary at approx cd14/15 .........I thought implanon stops ovulation? Also my implant is bent ........the doc said at around 6 mths that it was fine ..over the phone . I've had several implants in over 12 yrs , have 4 children. 2 conceived after removal of the implanon)

Hi, You have your self expirianced effect of Implanon. it's eficasy is best . has only 0.5 % possibilities of conception/ failure. Considering this,I would say, you need not worry. The pain you felt may be due to miner gastric upset. Implanon avoids ovulation when used perfectly without disturbing it.You say the device is bent. To rule out the doubt, you can go for Blood HCG testing( before menses) or urine pregnancy test ( if the period is delayed by 8-10 days.) In case test turns out +ve, & you want to continue pregnancy, remove the Implanon immediately.
